It seems winter has arrived, although being in the deserts of Arizona it can sometimes be difficult to tell.  I had been anticipating the first snow of the year and planned on being there to capture it first thing in the morning.  It does not matter how many times I have sat and watched the first snow of the year, I am always excited by it and this year was no different.  I arrived in the mountains early that evening, everything seemed perfect, such an exciting and relaxing evening.  I woke the next morning to discover that the weather had changed just enough overnight, it seems there would be no snow just then.  While there was not any snow, it was still great morning, its not often I have the chance to wake up inside a cloud.  To say it is a unique feeling is a bit of an understatement, better yet I was on a ridge overlooking some of Arizona's red rock country.  As much as I wanted rush about to find the perfect spot to watch and enjoy the clouds, they forced me to slow down and take my time.  I occasionally need that gentle reminder, to slow down and enjoy whats right in front of me, it is always so rewarding and relaxing.  I just wanted to share one of the sights from that morning, one of the many times the clouds parted to provide a wonderful view.  I hope as the holidays approach, you take the opportunity to slow down, relax, and enjoy the season with family and friends.
